Description
Master the art of single-serve indulgence with this perfectly portioned chocolate chip cookie – golden, gooey, and ready in under 25 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 tablespoons (25g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon (12g) granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (40g) all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/4 cup (40g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Extra chocolate chips for topping (optional)
- Flaky sea salt for finishing (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mix melted butter with both sugars for 60–90 seconds until paste-like and lightened in color.
- Add egg yolk and vanilla, whisk until smooth and glossy.
- Sprinkle in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold together just until no dry streaks remain.
- Fold in chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
- Form dough into one large ball or 2–3 smaller cookies. Place on baking sheet and top with extra chips.
- Bake 12–15 minutes until edges are golden but center is slightly underdone.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before enjoying.
Notes
Let melted butter cool slightly to avoid cooking the egg yolk. For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chunks. Chilling dough for 10 minutes before baking helps prevent overspreading.
