Description
These homemade cottage cheese chips offer a healthy, crunchy alternative to traditional chips. Packed with protein and low in carbs, they are perfect for snacking or as a topping for salads. This easy-to-make recipe requires just a few simple ingredients and is customizable to suit different dietary preferences.
Ingredients
1 cup of full-fat cottage cheese (low-fat optional)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon flour (optional – almond flour for gluten-free)
1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium-sized bowl, combine cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with olive oil.
Drop spoonfuls of the cheese mixture onto the baking sheet, spreading them into thin circles, about 1 to 2 inches in diameter.
Bake for 20-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
Allow the chips to cool for a few minutes before serving. They will crisp up as they cool.
Notes
You can substitute low-fat cottage cheese for a lighter version.
Add herbs like oregano or rosemary for a unique flavor twist.
For a dairy-free version, use vegan cheese alternatives.
These chips are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
